Polynomials

If α and β are the zeroes of the quadratic polynomial, p(x) = x2-6x+a, find the value of ‘a’ if 3α+2β=20.

Hi Niket Pandey !
Mark as answer and close

α + β = -b/a  =6

after solving two equations in   α and β,

α = 8,  β =-2

Now,   αβ = c/a = a

Therefore, 8.(-2) = a ⇒ -16

Cheers!!

therefore, a =
